Sheldon Lavin: Chairman and CEO of OSI Group

Born in 1932, Sheldon Lavin is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OSI Group, LLC. Mr. Lavin attended and majored in accounting at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Sheldon Lavin also received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.

For more than fifteen years, Mr. Lavin managed his own financial consulting firm, Sheldon Lavin and Associates, Inc. in Chicago. Aged 85, the thing that Mr. Lavin is most proud of is the fact that he was able to grow his company, help raise three children together with his wife, as well as give back to the society.

Career

Currently, Mr. Lavin serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OSI Group, LLC. He also serves as President of OSI International Foods Ltd and the General Trustee of Rush University Medical Center.

He has an exceptionally high profile in the meat and food processing industry. Lavin has advanced his industry knowledge since 1970 when he was involved in Otto & Son’s investments which eventually developed into the OSI Group. Under his vision and governance, OSI Group has grown from a local food processing company to become a leading international industry leader with more than 60 branches in different countries.

In 2016, Lavin was offered a Global Visionary Award in recognition of his incredible success of growing OSI Group into the international scene and job creation. With a passion for reaching out to the needy, Lavin has provided support for Ronald McDonald House Charities for over 25 years and is chairman of its capital movement. Also, he supports other charities including The Sheba Foundation where he is a director and president.
