Robert Ivy has been accomplishing great things in his career since he first started his journey back in 1996. When Robert started working at the Architectural Record, he used his position as editor in chief to bring in loads of new readers to the company, making them the success that they are today with one of the most popular architecture journals in the world.
Robert Ivy has also worked at McGraw Hill as a director of editing. As vice president of the company, Robert Ivy managed a lot for the companies daily operations as well as expanded into China as well as the Middle East. These days, Robert Ivy calls home to the American Insitute of Architects and has ever since he joined the team back in 2011. Robert’s position at AIA is CEO and VP, so he is tasked with the companies smooth operation and steady expansion, which has come easily to Robert over the years. Robert has continued to distinguish himself from others in the industry through his many accomplishments, for himself and the industry as a whole. Recently, Robert won the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement award from the Mississippi Insitute of Arts and Letters. This award is something else for Robert Ivy, despite the many awards he has won for his contributions to architecture in the past. The Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement has never made it into the hands of an architect before and it will likely be a very long time before it ever happens again, if ever.
Robert is not an artist or performer per say, but his contributions to the field of architecture, especially within his community, cannot be overstated. He has been making architecture more accessible to thousands of people over the past twenty years and continues to bring in new people to the American Insitute of Architects every single year.
